Gaming around the streets of Imola with C–LED beacons

Until 31st March, the “Beacon Hunt” game offers an opportunity to try out proximity marketing, made possible by the interactive technology from this new Cefla start-up.

Imola, 17 March 2017 Up to 31st March you can play “Beacon Hunt”, the online game born out of interaction between the ImolaInRete app (downloadable onto your smartphone) and special beacons developed by C-LED, the Cefla start-up that designs and manufactures wireless applications for proximity marketing. Beacons are small low-frequency transmitters that use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to interact with people when they come close to certain devices. Beacons can dialogue with smartphones or other personal devices, thus providing users, via the dedicated app, with valuable information according to the precise context in which they find themselves. In this case the game, which can be downloaded for free on all Android or Apple smartphones (from Google Play or App Store respectively), lets players catch ‘trophies’ as they come within range of beacons dotted around the streets of Imola – and win a prize if they find them all! On Friday 31, at 5 p.m., with the hunt officially over, a buffet will be held at the Confcommercio Ascom offices in viale Rivalta 6, Imola: everyone who collected all the beacons is invited!
